We recommend that residents test them quarterly and replace the battery at ‘Spring Forward’ and ‘Fall Back’ or if it starts beeping. You can use removed batteries for other less critical devices, like remote controls. If your unit has gas appliances (ie gas stoves), please make sure you have a working carbon monoxide detector. Fire Extinguishers

Every unit should be equipped with a fire extinguisher. Check the date on your fire extinguisher to make sure it is within its designed usability. We recommend that residents check them monthly.
